Mimecast’s Business Intelligence (BI) team partnered with their Channel Operations team to develop a set of reports and dashboards for better data insight, which was created using Tableau. The new channel summary dashboard provided Mimecast with a centralized location for retrieving pipeline and bookings metrics, as well as a downloadable dataset that allows for more ad-hoc analysis.

Review existing SQL Server data warehouse and Tableau environment.

Meet with the Channel Operations team and data warehouse engineering team to confirm metrics and underlying data needed and develop a roadmap based on their needs.

Problem

Mimecast’s Business Intelligence (BI) team partnered with their Channel Operations team to develop a set of reports and dashboards for better insight that would benefit the corporate, programmatic, and operations processes during funnel reviews, quarterly business reviews, partner business reviews, annual compliance reviews, and internal operational meetings.  

Solution

Through a series of workshops and data reviews, Archetype created a Tableau Server that was used to develop a Channel Summary dashboard that presented Channel Operations key metrics to senior leaders. 

Result

The new channel summary dashboard provided Mimecast with a centralized location for retrieving pipeline and bookings metrics, as well as a downloadable dataset that allows for more ad-hoc analysis. Most importantly, this new view into these insights helped the Channel Operations team feel as though the BI team was responding to their needs, helping strengthen Mimecast’s organization cross departmentally.
